About

Sherry Morris is from a small town in Missouri but hasn’t let that stop her.

She spent the summer of her 18th birthday traveling up the coast of France with a circus and after graduating from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a teaching degree,  joined the Peace Corps. She served two years in Ukraine and spent a further year in Poland before moving to London in 2000.

In February 2017, she moved to a farm in the Scottish Highlands where she pets cows, watches clouds, dabbles in photography and lives happily ever after with her partner. Her work has appeared online and in print with over 30+ literary magazines and e-zines, including Long Leaf Review, Fictive Dream, several Bath Flash anthologies, and Molotov Cocktail. Her stories have also been performed with Liars’ League London and The Space theatre in east London. She often writes about small-town life, and many of her stories have been influenced by her Peace Corps experience in Ukraine. She writes with the support of her partner, the local writing community, friends and family.

Her photos have featured with Sunlight Press, Briefly Write, Molecule and Stanchion literary magazines, as well as in Scottish landscape calendars.

Since 2024, she has presented ‘Sherry’s Shorts’, a monthly online spoken-word radio show featuring short stories and flash fiction with Highland Hospital Radio in Inverness, Scotland.

Visit her Writing page or Radio Presenter page for links to her work and shows.
